Vaja Announces NR Series Cases

Vaja Cases has begun selling three new cases for Sony's NR series.

The I-VOLUTION Dyna is a flip-case with leather on the outside and inside, but an ABS plastic insert strengthens it for extra handheld protection. It has access ports for the headphones and Jog Dial and comes in a wide variety of colors. It sells for $120.

For an additional $30, an extra compartment can be added to hold the headphones, control wand, and a Memory Stick. With the additional compartment, the I-VOLUTION Dyna is 1.5 inches thick.

The 730 Cover Case has a cover that opens to the side like a book. It costs $50. The 731 Flip Top Case also sells for $50. As its name implies, it's cover flips over the top. Both of these are leather and come in black or brown.

All of three of these allow the screen to rotate to switch configurations between clamshell mode and tablet mode. None of them will allow the regular cradle to be used. Either the handheld will have to be removed from the case or a HotSync cable will need to be used. An optional belt-clip is available for them, too.

Despite what Vaja Cases' site says, all of these are currently available.

I Got The Best Case from PDALife.com...

I.M. Anonymous @ 6/4/2002 4:52:57 PM #
O.K. I've been keeping this under my hat, but the best case for the NR70x is this Handipak case. It has 2 Clips for the Belt to hold the NR70x sideways. You can even tuck the Headset in the case first then slide the NR in after. Now they are selling out of the Velcro model for $10.99. There is a newer model for 24.99 with magnets on it to close the flap. I like the Velcro more though. Hey save $110.00 and get this case instead, I Love It!!!!

Ok it seems that the case that you got isn't the one for 120.00. Where did you get the case that you have and what was the actual cost. And did you say you can clip it onto your belt???? Rodger

Too Expensive

Eric2000 @ 6/4/2002 5:46:46 PM #
Seriously, if i paid $150 for a case to protect my PDA, I'd need to get a case to protect it! It is a very nice case and all, but I wouldn't want to spend so much on it.

But as they say, leather from Argentina are one of the best.

They are too greedy ! A case for $120 ?? That's absurd ? How much of the manufacturing cost ? $20 ? Why they sell it for $ 100 more ??

I think the process that they do is quite different. They create molds and then have the leather wrap around the mold. Well, something like that. :)

LOL!!!!

nah.

paulnaama @ 6/4/2002 6:16:52 PM #
Ya sure it looks AWESOME but believe me it WILL add bulk! and like Eric2000 said (above) its expensive which will make u wanna protect the case since u just spent so much on it.

All Vaja cases add a bit of bult cause they're leather. however they are awesome cases if u dont mind that fact.

Hedonism is not dead

It will just cost you 1" of thickness

Yay!!

abosco @ 6/4/2002 11:02:24 PM #
Let's take a look at another brilliant case. Yes, it's leather. Yes, it's fat. Yes, it is too complicated. Yes, it has too many compartments. Yes, the whole damn thing is freakin ugly and it's hiding a trully beautiful handheld. With $120 I'd just buy another handheld. Watch this case fly right off the shelves...

Baja boo hoo

I.M. Anonymous @ 6/5/2002 3:53:18 AM #
I got the Brando www.brando.com case which looks very similar to the flip up model by Baja but it was much less and it is very nicely built. They shipped to Canada from Hong Kong in 5 days (I think) very good.

I was just looking at that Brando case for the NR70... does it have a belt clip on the back? I can't tell from the pictures, which leads me to believe it doesn't?

Without the MP3 case, its pretty thin

I.M. Anonymous @ 6/5/2002 8:57:48 AM #
I agree that this thing is way expensive, but the I-Volution without the $30 add on MP3 case is probably the thinnest case available for the NR70. Plus, Vaja stuff is almost never full price b/c they offer specials. Right now, everything is 20% off. I wish I could see one of these in person.

Great case

I.M. Anonymous @ 6/5/2002 11:54:04 AM #
I'm using InCase's PDA case for my NR-70. Fits great, velcro closure, clips onto my belt if I want. It's neoprene with "grippy" rubber sides. Very nice, only cost $20. Check it out at www.goincase.com.
