Palm again boosts 3com's profits

3com beat Wall Street consensus estimates again partly due to booming sales of Palm Handheld computers. Read the full article here. The bright spot was in sales of 3Com's hugely popular Palm computers, which have sold a total of more than 5 million units. Revenues for the Palm division, which is being spun off into a separate listed company, soared 77 percent from a year earlier to $260.9 million. On the other hand, ZDNET has an article speculating that 3com's shares will go kaput once they spin off Palm citing that without Palm they look like a struggling company.
