TealGlance = Hot Date (GPL)

I.M. Anonymous @ 7/23/2002 8:54:07 AM #
Hi !

It's a shame to give an award for software which is a poor copy of a good freeware: Hot Date.
The later is open source (GPL) and costs nothing.

Web site:
http://rallypilot.sourceforge.net/

Also if you want good open source software (but not award wining ...sorry...), visit the palm open source portal:

http://www.palmopensource.com/
http://www.openpalm.org/

Cheers,

Ludo.

Another freeware - Today, written by Jonas Lindstedt is also wonderful. Yes, it's free.

Award means nothing.

Thanks for the link to the Palm app 'Today'! I just downloaded and installed it. I agree that it is wonderful.

Simple, intuitive, and perfect for every day use (at least for me). Kudos to Jonas Lindstedt for a developing such a great app and a very affordable cost. ;)

Today is slow, with no plus-value !!! What is great with this sort of software ( today, hot-date or tealglance) ? Do you really like looking at your screen (or tv) through a mirror ? Or you're too lazy to push on two-three buttons ?
Be simple and do away with gadgets...

There's also "Wassup":

Yes! I bought Wassup 1.2 and it rocks! $5 is nothing for what it gives you. I *love* the Radar!!

It's a shame that the author of "Today" had to stoop to copying almost every feature of Wassup 1.2 within 10 days of it's release. Jonas obviously has *no* creativity or morals...

Anyone try NRButtons?

I.M. Anonymous @ 7/23/2002 9:21:27 AM #
I just tried NRButtons. I have had in the past those free silk screens... and while they work great I have had big problems with the ones that over write the lower area. Well, actually, they over write the status bar area fine but when I tried to switch back to the built in all kinds of fun started.

NRButtons doesn't seem to have this problem. I have turned it on and off and all seems ok. Pretty nice having access to the dates button when the screen is flipped and covering the keyboard.

Teal Glance an example of bad sampling

I.M. Anonymous @ 7/23/2002 10:30:58 AM #
Obviously the people that voted for this product were not representative of the Palm community.

This is almost as laughable as the PDA rating system over at PDA Buzz that still keeps the Palm m500 in the top 10 rated PDA's.

TealGlance is old, buggy software and suffers from TealPoint's complete lack of skill in designing GUIs. They have some of the worst looking Palm software available. Laughable indeed.

Entourage X

I.M. Anonymous @ 7/23/2002 12:27:06 PM #
What a lame piece of software!! Messed up my palm and please let me know how can 57 short memos use up over 700k of memory? Hope no one else had to experience this.

You aren't the only one. If you are using this, get it off your Mac now!! Its crapolla. Everyone I've heard from has complained of the Incredible Expanding Database. Talked to one guy who saw his expand until he couldn't do anything any more.

Does anyone know how to delete the Entourage X conduit and restore the Palm Desktop conduit under OS X?
