New Cases for Sony T665C and Handspring Treo

InnoPocket has released a new hardcase for the Sony T665C and Marware has released one for the Handspring Treo line.

The Metal Deluxe Case for Sony T665C is made of anodized aluminum and lined with neoprene. It has been designed to fit the handheld as closely as possible. It includes slots that allow access to the Memory Stick slot, Jog Dial, Back button, headphone jack, Hold button, stylus, IR port, and HotSync port. It is available now from InnoPocket for $30.

When the T665C is in this hardcase it can't be HotSynced in its cradle. Instead, a HotSync cable must be used.

The T615C and T665C are not exactly the same size so cases for one will not necessarily fit the other.

Marware has release the SportSuit for Treo --a neoprene case that fits all currently available Treo models. It features a 2 mm thick neoprene exterior, a plush-lined interior, an opening for the antenna, a Velcro closure, and access to the headset jack and antenna. Plastic inserts in the front and back of the case add impact protection.

It comes with a removable low-profile spring clip. It is available only in black and sells for $25.

Too much cushion

With the neoprene type case it is more difficult to feel the vibrating alarm and to hear the ringer, but they protect the unit well.

I thought that was the purpose of a case... to protect it.

But you want better protection? There must have trade off between them.

how comfortable is it to hold

with the case opening to the right, I always wondered how comfortable it was to grip it. I would think that it would easily slip out of ones hands

I have the 415 and the case for the 615, which it fits just fine in. That said - yes, it's not nearly as pleasant to hold as just holding the handheld, and if I'm going to use it for any length of time I often take it out of the case. You can comfortably hold the handheld while in the case, but it's tricky to do so and be able to use the jogdial.

I would consider something along the lines of that fliptop leather case w/ the cellphone style beltclip for my next case. [I'm not big on the magnetic enclosure idea, but I certainly wouldn't want a snap, and don't like the idea of annoying velcro]

SONY ROCKS!

His Trollboy post won't get deleted.

Personally, I don't understand why any company would make accessories for the clie - The body style/connectors change so much that by the time you had one designed and built, there's a good chance it will be discontinued already.
