Money Magazine Financial Assistant Now Available

Posted By: Ed on Wednesday, September 25, 2002 2:16:11 PM

The Money Magazine Financial Assistant is now available from LandWare. It provides more than 45 worksheets to help calculate a loan payment, split a restaurant bill, or simply compare the prices of different sized packages. It has worksheets that cover loans, leasing and mortgages, currency conversion, investment evaluation, net worth, and much more. The Money Magazine Financial Assistant sells for $25.

Each worksheet is equipped with a detailed description and a set of examples to further illustrate its use.

It also includes a set of electronic tutorials created by the editors at Money Magazine designed to help users invest, save, borrow, and spend more wisely. These cover the basics of banking and saving, investing in mutual funds, and ways to control debt.

It also includes two financial glossaries: A standard 1,600 term edition which covers the core of the financial language and the 7,200 term edition which represents the most extensive available on any handheld. The user has the option of whether to install these.

It requires Palm OS 3.0 or later and 422K of free memory. More memory is required if either of the financial glossaries are installed.

...and I like it.

This software is especially useful to people (like me) who do financial calculations only occasionally. I have calculators that do financial computations, but I don't use them often enough to remember how to perform these computations. The Landware product is quite verbose and so I can easily figure out how to use its many features.

Now if this thing could only find me a good way to invest my meager savings...
