Worms World Party Headed to the Palm OS
Hexacto and Team17 have joined forces to bring Worms World Party to handheld gaming market. Worms World Party is the latest in a long line of addictively fun Worms games. Players control an army of four worms, each of whom are dropped into combat zones against rival worm factions. Using the wide array of weapons at their disposal - including homing missiles, shotguns, concrete donkeys and sheep strikes - the aim of the game is to wipe out the opposing worms using your arsenal.
Update: Accoring to Hexacto the game will now be released in the second quarter of 2003.
As part of the agreement, Hexacto will develop and publish the assorted versions of Worms World Party, with the new versions boasting all the stunning immediacy and gameplay of Team 17's PC versions. Hexacto's conversions will boast all the moves, weapons and possibilities of their PC predecessors.
The new versions of Worms World Party will be available via online distribution platforms and in retail stores in the fourth quarter of 2002. Hexacto is also looking to bundle the PC version of the Team 17 game with the PDA versions of the game in the United States.
"In-line with our continued support of new formats we are very excited about the Worms franchise making the move into these new areas," said Team 17's Commercial Director Debbie Bestwick commented. "Worms World Party's gameplay is ideally suited for the casual handheld market, and ensures gamers will have to look no further to find a fun and very addictive game to enjoy on the road or at home!"
