Compaq dumping Windows CE?

The PalmReader is reporting that an anonymous source inside Compaq claims the company plans to drop its Windows CE-based line of organizers in favor of a new line based on another platform, most likely the PalmOS. We reported this rumor back in November and it looks like something may become of it soon. Linux could also be a possibility, Compaq developed a tiny prototype handheld called Itsy, that ran a modified version of Linux.
