Cerience Corporation is now offering free versions of its RepliGo Viewer software for the Palm OS. This solution empowers users of the RepliGo conversion software to easily deploy cross-platform, light-weight document files to the mobile community. RepliGo assures the
original document appearance is kept intact while providing easy reading
on small screens via its document reflowing technology. RepliGo
supports conversion of hundreds of file formats including Microsoft®
Office, Adobe® PDF and Web pages. The conversion and synchronization software is priced between $24.95 and $29.95 USD depending on device type. A 14 day free trial is available too.
Lightspeed - XScale Overclocking
Lightspeed is a new app that lets you change the Bus clock frequency and CPU clock frequency on your Palm OS 5 device that has an intel XScale CPU. It currently supports SONY Clie devices, Tungsten|C support is being discussed. The app allows you to increase the Bus clock frequency by as much as 200 percent and set the CPU clock frequency to as high as 400 Mhz. -Aaron

PDF is finally Portable!
I also really like the integration into Microsoft Internet Explorer. I can very quiclky save a web page to my T|T for review at a later time. I may have to re-examine my use of Plucker and PocketLink as alternatives to WebPro's 'View Saved Pages'...

Is overclocking really necessary?
That said, is overclocking really necessary on the PalmOS5/Xscale devices? I had gotten the impression that they are much faster than the old dragonball processors.

If there was a way to turn the clock speed down whenever the palm was simply waiting for input, that would be incredibly cool. I don't know if it's possible, though.

Overclocking
