I agree...

What I can't fathom is why either Palm, Sony or PocketPC manufacturers other than HP (as the h1940 is close to perfect) can't come in with a compelling PDA with Bluetooth and a $200 price range. Is this a pipe dream or too much to ask for ? The h1940 has a sugg retail of $299 so it isn't far off.

Speaking of entry level Palms

vimbuza @ 8/4/2003 3:00:58 PM #
They should bring back the PEG-S360, sell it for 50 bucks and blow the zire out of the water.

So there I was, acting like a normal human being... -Sonny Rollins

1340KB - You gotta be kidding me!

jhoh @ 8/4/2003 3:15:06 PM #
Let's see...you buy a 16MB PDA with 11MB free and need to devote 1.3Mb to a patch to the BASE FUNCTIONALITY AND SELLING POINT of the device.

Give me a break...How about a ROM update, Sony? How about you build your device correctly in the first place?

You mean you don't like spending $800 for a PDA with 9 MB free after all the driver updates? Are you mad? We don't need no stinkin' 32 MB. 64 MB is for losers.

There have been at least 1 or 2 other updates for the TG50 too, really makes you question the wisdom of Sony not putting flash ROM in the TG50 (not that we needed another reason).

I think CLIE Viewer had an update, as well as Flash Player.

anyone tried this update? does it really take up 1.3mb? maybe its just for cache or something

New models coming?

Foo Fighter @ 8/4/2003 4:40:03 PM #
Ah..price cuts. That can mean only one thing; new models on the horizon. It looks like Sony is pricing the SJ33 to replace the SJ22 line. Something is obviously coming down the pike to replace SJ33 with something to compete with Palm's Zire 71, which is currently the hottest selling handheld on the market. Could it be a T-series model with full screen (VG)? One can only hope.

64MB RAM (48 user accessible).

WiFi Memory Stick!!

Same crappy stylus, dammitohell!!!

Still, it is aimed at Pearl Harboring -- if I may use that term, and I damn well can because this is still America and we can say whatever the eff we like so go kill yourself you Politically Correct Thought Nazi scum! -- the TT3.

Ah, I feel better now.

wish lower end had voice recording...

kisrael @ 8/4/2003 10:21:51 PM #
wish more lowerend units had voice recording. Right now I'm thinking about grabbing a SJ-22 to replace my IIIC since it's pretty cheap, and I'd like to get into doodling and uploading the results...

The SJ33 is an excellent handheld!

Strider_mt2k @ 8/8/2003 4:05:24 PM #
I just picked up an SJ33, and it's a great handheld for the money!
I specifically went for it to get a little more milage fron the OS4 apps and hacks I've spent money on over the years.
I imagine it would be an excellent upgrade for anyone else in the same position.

If at all posiible go and demo one.
