Synchrologic to Support SyncML Initiative

Company to contribute enterprise synchronization experience to SyncML Initiative
PALM DESERT, Calif. – (March 7, 2000) Synchrologic, Inc., a leading provider of mobile computing infrastructure software for enterprise, announced today at Mobile Insights 2000 that it will support the SyncML Initiative being driven by IBM, Lotus, Motorola, Nokia, Palm, Inc., Psion and Starfish Software.
The SyncML Initiative is focused on developing and promoting an open industry specification for universal data synchronization of remote data and personal information across multiple networks, platforms and devices.

Since 1995, Synchrologic has developed synchronization solutions for enterprise customers. Synchrologic’s iMobile Data Synchronization product provides developers with the ability to handle the most complex data synchronization challenges involving sophisticated data modeling, conflict resolution, and change capture on enterprise relational databases. This depth of experience and technology will be extremely valuable as Synchrologic serves as a key contributor to the SyncML initiative.

"We are pleased to add Synchrologic to our growing roster of SyncML supporters," said Doug Heintzman, manager of SyncML partnerships for IBM. "It is important to get the contributions and backing of leading synchronization vendors like Synchrologic as we drive this initiative."

Synchrologic vice president of product management and marketing Bill Jones commented on the value of the initiative, saying that it will help address needless incompatibilities arising from different vendors' synchronization solutions over a variety of devices and databases.

"The SyncML Initiative will improve enterprises' ability to manage mobile data and devices," said Jones. "With our five years and deep experience with tens of thousands of mobile enterprise users, Synchrologic will contribute substantial feedback. SyncML and iMobile Suite share a common goal of enabling the creation of interoperable wireless and wireline data synchronization products across corporate servers, Web servers, laptops, handheld computers, mobile phones and other mobile devices, regardless of platform or manufacturer. We are proud to be one of the early supporters of this initiative."

Synchrologic plans SyncML support across its range of data synchronization products for laptops and devices based on the Palm OS and Windows CE.
