This time around, the company is returning to its fully ruggedized handheld roots by quietly announcing the availability of the Palm OS Garnet 5.4 versions of the Meazura RDA1500 and MEZ1500.
First mentioned exactly a year ago on PIC, these "Ruggedized Digital Assistants" had previously only been offered with Windows CE and Linux OS options. According to a post on Aceeca's message boards, these devices began shipping in limited quantities in September but has just recently been added to their website.

Compared to the PDA32, both units have physically larger but lower-resolution 240x320 color LCD screens with RS232 serial connectivity and additional side-mounted hard buttons not present in the PDA32. The 1500 series has the same memory configuration and the same 400Mhz Samsung CPU as the PDA32 and have utilize lower-capacity 1700mAh batteries but are in fully sealed and ruggedized yellow housings.
Shipping at an undisclosed date in the future, announced pricing for base configurations of the RDA1500 and MEZ1500 are $399.99 and $499.99 respectively. A full comparison of all of the company's Palm OS handhelds is available here.
