are there any hard case?

Sofa!
maybe leather is good, but it makes the pda less stylish. I perfer the metal case.

It has been shown that soft cases outsell hard cases by almost two to one. This will do well.

AWESOME Products!

I recently bought a SENA Case for my T3! AWESOME PRODUCT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1. High Quality Leather, Stitching, Construction.
2. Super SUPER SLIM with EXACTING fit.
3. You can sync easily IN CRADLE IN THE CASE with slider open or closed!!! (BIG BIG BIG DEAL FOR ME!) The leather is thin enough where the T3 slides in cradle very easily!
4. No Annoying Extending Straps or Protrusions (Especially if you choose "No belt clip option" - there is no protruding NASTY NUB on the back as with other more "one-for-all" products)
5. Nice EASY flip cover to access data with no annoying clip strap.
6. Easy access to all buttons.
7. GREAT protection.
8. 2 SD pockets and 1 big pocket if needed.
9. Very Professional Looking with Assortment of colors (including all BLACK)
10. Reasonable Cost = $39 + $5 shipping. I got it in 2 days cross country!!!

If you want the BEST leather case for your PDA, get a Sena!

That is beautiful. Bought a leather Piel Frama for my T3, but this looks better. One thing that sold me on the P/F was not only the top notch contruction, but it had enough slots in it to allow me to combine (tightly) my wallet and PDA into one.

Unfortunately my T3s screen went out 2 weeks later and I'm living with my wife's Vx and a new leather wallet. :-(

Was the screen damaged by the credit cards pressing against it? I tried a leather case many eons ago with my Palm IIIc. I attempted to use it to replace my wallet. It took 1 day to knock out the screen as the credit cards dug directly into the it (I had to remove the flip cover to make it fit). I imagine the same would be true with the SD cards? What's to stop a jolt from digging them directly into the screen?

The best casemaker IMHO, the one I had for my TG50 fit, looked, and worked great. SD Cards did make a mark in my martin fields screen protector though. After almost a year of heavy construction abuse, they sent me a new one in 10 days no problem. Great case.

even if GEKKO LIKES IT.

justauser,
I've not considered that, but I suppose it could be possible. the cards do kind of press against it. Plus I like to carry it in a back pocket, so maybe I'm being too tough on the T3? It's not built like a m5xx or V. Screen is not broken, but just displays white. Impossible to find a new one so far. :-(

So Gekko, does this mean you got your T3 fixed?

RE: AWESOME Products!
Gekko @ 11/17/2004 6:19:10 PM #

I am still using my T3. The digitizer drift is there but I'm managing. The new SENA case ALMOST makes it feel like a new pda. I have no other alternatives at this point since the T5 is out of the question. I will look at PPC again very soon when WM2005 comes out in a few months.

Geek Geezer @ 11/18/2004 11:41:29 AM #
I had a problem with the Sena case on the T3. The SD cards do press against the screen with the case closed, and that seemed to defeat alarms. I'd open the device to find an alarm prompt staring at me, but never got an audible alert. Works fine if you don't put the SD cards in it. I keep the SD cards in a Riley Dog holder instead.

carrying the WiFi card

sremick @ 11/16/2004 2:39:52 PM #
While this does seem like a nice case, I find it annoying that yet another case manufacturer seems to forget that, since the T5 doesn't have WiFi, one might want to buy the Palm WiFi card which is longer than a normal SD card and could not fit into one of those 2 little pockets.

Simply reorienting them would've solved this trivial problem, but nope.

But don't you know? Simple is better, and Palm users are so simple, they don't WANT WiFi

RE: carrying the WiFi card
timepilot84 @ 11/16/2004 3:00:20 PM #
Yes, PalmOne and other developers should waste time and effort supporting features that I want and completely disregard any market research that they may have done. What I want is clearly the path to get me to quit bitching on every applicable (and several non-applicable) forums. Keeping the elite from bitching is what most companies strive for, profits be damned! Who cares if everyone else would prefer longer battery life and lower cost rather than a trivial feature upgrade that is already available via an external upgrade?

RE: carrying the WiFi card
Gekko @ 11/16/2004 3:00:23 PM #

The P1 WiFi card fits in the Sena T3 case and I suspect it will fit in the T5 version as well.

RE: carrying the WiFi card
Mausoleum @ 11/16/2004 4:39:21 PM #
Oh, that's right, Palm does all the market research but neither HP or Dell do, right.... Keep drinking that Koolaid. All I can say is, regardless of what Palm's oh so great market research told them, the market isn't obeying. It's voting with it's money and (looking at the recent sales statistics) the market is not voting for Palm.

You don't get lower cost with a T5. Plenty of PPC's in the T5 price range have wi-fi. The wifi card does not work as I'm sure you know plus who knows when it will and it is not cheap.

RE: carrying the WiFi card
timepilot84 @ 11/16/2004 6:32:27 PM #
Now that you have made your case for why PalmOne is going to disappear because they didn't add wi-fi into the T5 in yet another forum completely unrelated to that subject, can we talk about the new PDA cases?

RE: carrying the WiFi card
Hal2000 @ 11/16/2004 7:11:32 PM #
You need 2 wifi cards in the sena or it will appear unbalanced, kinda lopsided looking, like Halle Berry.

If you're someone who likes a thin leather cases, you can't beat Sena. I've had three different Sena cases and have been really happy with all of them.

As for the Wi-Fi card, I did carry it in the SD card pocket on my T3, and it fit just fine. I had my SD memory card in the other pocket, so it didn't feel unbalanced at all.

"kinda lopsided looking, like Halle Berry"

I know this is OT, but how is Halle Berry lopsided?

RE: carrying the WiFi card
G M Fude @ 11/17/2004 7:17:39 PM #
Umm... yeah. That is odd. Didn't Ms Berry win Best Cinematic Rack 2002 for her role in Swordfish? (It was Kirsten Dunst last year for Spiderman)

The slipper is by EB is also nice

I've owned about 3 or 4 of these over the years. Next to Vaja, these are my favorite cases. This one is on order for my T5.

T. @ 11/16/2004 11:07:53 PM #
I like the way the SD pockets are behind the other pocket to protect the screen.

My Wifi card has damaged my T3 screen protector (in a Peil Frama case) when I fell asleep on a plane while leaning on the case (normally there is plently of clearance). Luckily it only ruined the protector.

The PF case has a wraparound clasp which this does not. I sometimes forget and leave my Palm on my belt when I ride my scoot (how geekish is that) so I like the security of the wrap around. However, the leather on thisa case seems to totally wrap around the T5 so it looks very secure (an advantage of not having the slider). When I looked at their T3 cases I did not feel as comfortable.

G M Fude @ 11/17/2004 7:20:01 PM #
Yep EB are nicely made, too, I have a Copilot with belt clip for when I'm wearing jeans and can't fit a PDA in my pocket. Mostly I use an old Brando 'Digital Express' slipper-type which just refuses to wear out on my T|T; they make them for the newer Palm models too. Doesn't look so fancy and is a tad bulky though, I wouldn't get one again.

Isn't it about time we had some case reviews for the new PDAs? I remember when we used to get these on PIC a couple of years back.

Yah

Buying a nice case for a T5 is like putting lipstick on a pig.
