Treo Pro Launched on Vodafone New Zealand

Palm, Inc. today announced that the Treo Pro smartphone is now available on the Vodafone New Zealand network. With its streamlined design and Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, Treo Pro is a unique combination of sleek simplicity and robust productivity - including email, Wi-Fi and GPS capabilities - that meets the needs of businesses and end users alike.

The Treo Pro is Palm's new Quad-Band GSM phone (850/900/1800/1900MHz) with Tri-Band 3G HSDPA/UMTS (850/1900/2100MHz) support. It runs Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional Edition on a 400 MHz Qualcomm MSM7201 processor with a 320x320 pixel flush touchscreen, 256MB memory (100MB user available), microSD expansion (up to 32GB supported), built in Wi-Fi (802.11b/g with WPA, WPA2, and 801.1x authentication), Bluetooth 2.0, GPS and a 2.0 megapixel camera.

I checked the NZ Vodafone site and there is absolutely no mention of the Treo Pro at least as of 5:28 pm USCST. Its a little after 1 pm Friday afternoon there, so you would think the site had updated by now.

Hmmm....the PR-fluff about this wasn't ambiguous about Vodafone's participation in the sales of the Treo Pro - a Vodafone guy said soemthing like "...our product portfolio...".

So it is SOMEWHERE with Vodafone, NZ...

It looks like their web site may not have been updated since September - there are NO October press releases even though their history shows multiple releases per month before then.
