Motricity, the premier provider of mobile content and solutions, today announced that it has named Matthew Petzold as chief financial officer. The company has also stated they are aggressively hiring more than 30 open positions within the company. Matthew Petzold is an industry veteran with more than 18 years of operational and business experience, including financial management, capital investments, acquisitions and mergers. As Motricity?s CFO, Petzold is responsible for the strategic direction, operation and management of the company's financial resources. Petzold most recently served as the CFO of Verestar, a $250 million satellite services provider delivering integrated satellite, terrestrial and Internet solutions where he was responsible for the finance, human resources and legal teams. Previously, he was vice president and CFO of UUNET, then the largest worldwide Internet Service Provider. There, he was responsible for the company's financial planning and reporting, management reporting, capital investments, mergers and acquisitions and acquisition integration activities, and managed a finance staff in excess of 300 with operations in 29 countries on five continents. During his tenure at UUNET, Mr. Petzold provided strategic and operational financial management during a period of growth from $20 million to $4 billion in annual sales and employee growth from 150 to more than 10,000. Earlier in his career, Petzold served as an audit manager at Arthur Andersen, assisting corporate clients with accounting and business advisory services. "It is an exciting opportunity for me to be part of such a fast growing industry leader," said Petzold. "I look forward to adding my experience and expertise to an already impressive management team with proven success and solid resources."

However, I just hope that palmOne will move all of their customer support back to the States because it appears that their customer service has taken a massive dive over the last couple of months due to blatant outsourcing. It's called Corporate Greed, and I can't allow that anymore. I just hope that palmOne will move their Technical Support and Technology Analyst positions back to the States since outsourcing may result in confused answers and disastorous solutions.
