Long-time favorite backup utility NVBackup from Alex Pruss has just received another update. With the latest beta release, dated June 30th 2008, NVBackup is now up to version 1.22b6. A quick install and quick backup routine on my 755p showed no noticeable problems or installation difficulties. Sourceforge.net's page detailing the release history of NVBackup and download links can usually be found here but it has not yet been updated to reflect the release of the new 1.22 version. This page also offers archived downloads of older builds of the utility. The 1.22b6 version is available for download "as is" now from Alex Pruss' homepage here (.prc link).
NV Backup is a free, thorough, and easy-to-use backup/restore solution for newer (NVFS) Palms including the new Centro smartphones and the Treo 755p, 700p, 680, and 650. It also works on newer NVFS-enabled Palm OS handhelds such as the TX, T5, LifeDrive and the Tungsten E2. It will not work on older non-NVFS devices such as the older OS 5.x handhelds and the Treo 600.

Thanks to the developer for continuing with this project. Although I am a registered user of Backupman I have since moved on to NVBackup as it is very reliable and restores are complete. With Backupman I could not restore IBM Java from the Backup RE: Thanks
Great app! I've been using this since I got my first NVFS device, a T5. Excellent! I used to be a loyal backupman user, but this is much better, and free. I'm getting the update right now... :-) RE: Thanks
Ditto. This is a tremendous piece of SW. For free makes it stupid tremendous. Nobody with an SD card and Palm should leave home without this.

1.22: Log files now have .log extension. Compatibility with keyguard utilities.
I also noticed resource and code changes related to getting time from SNTP servers over the network and doing range selection for backup files.
