DREADling Release Delayed Again

DREADling, the oft-delayed version of Doom for the Palm, has been delayed yet again. It is currently scheduled to be released on May 8. According to their site, the reason for the delay is, "James McCombe does not work on DREADling full time and has been getting 3-4 hours sleep for the last week! In the interests of a polished product and a sane James we hope you understand the move in release date." Read more for the full update.

Bad news I am afraid. DREADling’s release date has been moved to Tuesday 8th May. We thought long and hard before shifting the date again, and were very loath to do so, but in the end it was unavoidable. DREADling is NOT vapourware! It WILL be released on the new date.

More preview information will be on the web site on Tuesday 25th – watch out for it! Final price: $19.98 Apart from online credit card orders, we will be able to take payment by cheques drawn on UK bank accounts. We would love to be able to accept cheques from all over the world – and we are currently talking to our bank to try and keep the charges as low as possible for all those involved. Again we are so _very_ sorry about the delay in release. James McCombe does not work on DREADling full time and has been getting 3-4 hours sleep for the last week! DREADling has been lmost a year in development we still feel that it is worth getting things as right as possible. We have also been trying to make sure that DREADling works on all Palm platforms. However, registered users will be able to download it free of charge once it is finished.

When DREADLing is released, we hope you will think it was worth the extra wait. If we did not think that the delay was justified we would be releasing it now. For those of you who requested review copies, we will hold out sending any more until we get a few more of the planned features finished (teleport is cool!) Note that we will ONLY send review copies to bona fide publishing companies.
