Palm's fiscal year and last quarter end Sunday May 31st, so they are looking to get revenue (and profit) in the door and inventory out of the door before that. It all makes good sense! If you buy an AT&T Centro without a contract, can you unlock it and then use it on T-Mobile or some other GSM network? RE: Why May 28th..

Palm's retail sales amount to almost nothing compared to their wholesale sales (to carriers, etc).
That is to say, Palm by far makes its money from sell-IN, not sell-THROUGH. Though perhaps every little bit helps...
