Rumor: Zire 73 Mention on Internet Store

A large internet webstore has posted a reference to a palmOne Zire 73 handheld. This is the first mention of a new Zire handheld and could indicate a forthcoming release.

The palmOne Zire 73 is listed as a compatible model for a slim leather case on Buy.com. There are no other mentions or details, however it does hint the unit could be the roughly the same size and form factor as the Zire 72. Online retailers are often the first places where mentions of upcoming products are leaked.

at 1src.com, there are zire 73 photos in the forums. they were proven to be fakes, but look at all the fake t5 pictures that traveled the internet before any real pics came out.

I wonder how many web developers have accidentally typed 'Zire 71' in their catalog listings, and it has been taken by PalmInfocenter as proof that the Zire 72 will be scrapped and we'll all be going back to the 71.
