NoviiMedia today unveiled a new product, the NoviiRemote Blaster for Treo 650. It is an SD card accessory plus software for turning the Treo 650 into the ultimate universal remote control.
Running in the NoviiRemote software, the NoviiRemote Blaster for Treo 650 is easily programmed to control all of a user’s entertainment devices, including TV, Cable/Sat, DVD/CD, VCR, TiVo, etc. After having installed the blaster software on the Treo, you can insert the SD card at any time and launch the application. Just select your brand of TV, VCR, DVD, DVR, cable/sat box, CD player and audio receiver from the list, and the NoviiRemote software automatically starts controlling your AV system. NoviiRemote Blaster for Treo 650 is available for purchase now for $35.99.

IR Monitor will not work with Treos or OMAP-based devices. Quoting: --Notice--

I agree. I use tons of apps on my Treo (e.r. real player, quicken, splashphoto, ereader, smartlist), but couldn't imagine taking it this far. RE: SillyCaptain Hair @ 6/21/2005 12:04:43 AM #
I agree that the NoviiBlaster itself is overkill, but I actually use the NoviiRemote program daily. I can control practically every IR media device in my house and at work. "People who think they're smart annoy those of us who are." RE: Silly
this is a "thinking outside the box" product. i just hope they create drivers for other devices especially older palm handhelds and the ones with larger screens. it would be great to use a discarded haldheld as a universal remote around the house. RE: Silly
At first I thought using a discarded palm as a remote might be a good idea, but then when remotes get lost or layed on a table they would always be out of power. For $12 you can get a universal remote that runs on batteries that don't need to be replaced for years and have few breakable parts. (So when the cat knocks it off the table....) Mike RE: Silly
I had NoviiRemote Deluxe on my Tungsten E and enjoyed it greatly, but it's impossible to use on my Treo 650 because of the range. I am excited to not have to creep up to the TV set when I am out and about.
