At $30 or $40 bucks a year, isn't it ALREADY "priced out of the consumer market"?
At that price, I think they've been aiming for Enterprise, which may be why they had to sell out. It's a great little program, but most people (myself included) aren't into dropping $30 a year for an upscale IM program, especially when there are many decent freeware and a few "purchase once" programs. If they want to stick with a "subscription" model, make it $10 bucks a year and they'll probably get me to cough up the money as it was fun the rare moments I used it. Bundle it with Intellisync or some other app. Or strip out all the "bots" and just sell me the basic multiple IM ability with their great interface.

Nice product but the annual fees are amazing. The annual fee for VeriChat is killer right now, I hope that this acquistion does not mean that Verichat will be priced out of the consumer market.
