Bejeweled 2 takes the classic game of gem-swapping to euphoric new heights. Players must match the colored jewels in lines of three horizontally or vertically to clear them from the board. Lines of four jewels are awarded with a Power Gem whilst lines of five award the much sought-after Hyper Cube. Both special jewels trigger their own unique jewel-clearing devices. Bejeweled 2 features all new graphics, stunning background images, in game transitions and cutting-edge special effects. The game has four standard play modes; classic, action, endless and the all-new puzzle mode and five special bonus modes are unlocked as players progress through the various standard modes, adding extra challenges and even more gameplay. The game also supports 480x320 and 320x480 high-res graphics modes for all compatible devices.
Bejeweled 2 for Palm OS v1.2 retails for $19.95 and there is a free trial download.

Umm, I think someone's a little late on this story. Bejeweled2 v1.2 has been out for almost a year now. My version shows a date of March 22, 2005 and Astraware's Bejeweled2 page shows a date of Apr 1 2005. -----BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK----- Version: 3.12 GS d-(+) s: a C++ UX++++V++S++ P+>+++ L>+++ E+>++ W++ N++(+++) o? ok, somebody sent me a news tip it was updated and astraware's site still says the feature is new, so I thought it was updated. Well we never covered it before so I'll leave the article up. -Ryan RE: A little slow on the uptake
so it turns out it was updated after all, only it was original bejeweled that got updated.

I like this game, I don't have much against it, and while Astraware isn't quite making false advertisements by saying this game is hi-res+, it's VERY close to the border
This It's really just hi-res (320x320). When the DIA is hidden the square 320x320 screen is centered and the extra 80 lines of pixels going up and down or left and right are just used to display the background in its landscape or portrait mode entirety. While that looks better, I don't really count that since it has no direct bearing on gameplay. Of course I don't expect AW to change that. For a game like Bej2 played on a set 8x8 grid. Not much to use use the extra screen real estate, and modifying the grid size would change the mecahnics of the gameplay. the secret to enjoying your job is to have a hobby that's even worse My PDAs: Visor --> Visor Neo (blue) --> Zire 71 --> Tungsten T3 (with 4 of 6 screws still remaining) ~?~> zodiac 2?

If Kenny West is reading this then I just wanted to say that Howard & the gang at Astraware have kept up a superb effort for years! Astraware & Splashdata set the paradigm that all mobile software developers should strive to achieve.
The only time I've ever gotten "burned" on an Astraware purchase was with one of those crummy pre-loaded MMC titles (hey I was bored and stuck at the airport). I quickly learned that the publisher, not the developer, handles all support for those MMC titles...which is to say, they don't support 'em at all past whatever state they were in when they burned the ROM image onto the card.
