Kinoma Player EX 4.1 Update Released

Posted By: Kris Keilhack on Thursday, February 01, 2007 8:53:31 AM

Kinoma has released a substantial update to their excellent Kinoma Player EX media player software. This new version brings the player up to version 4.1, replacing the previous 4.01 reviewed here.

Most notable amongst the improvements brought to the table in 4.1 is a major update of the Kinoma Media Guide. Kinoma claims that the guide has more than doubled the previous version's not-insubstantial amount of content.

Kinoma 4EXPerformance improvements are also present for browsing and playing files as well as launching the app itself. Finally, Windows Mobile (via Styletap) compatibility is also offered in addition to improved Orb streaming performance.

A complete changelog is available here.

All of these improvements to an already strong feature set are available in the 4.1 update free to registered 4.0 customers. The update can be download via the integrated version checker and updater built into Kinoma or downloaded here. Kinoma Player 4.1 EX costs $24.95.

If you have the previous... upgrade!

Well worth the upgrade. A few annoyances, such as the slow media scan at start of program have been delt with.

Not much in terms of added features, but the bug fixes are worth upgrading.

now it scans the whole sd card

Kinoma now scan the whole sd card, importing all your audio files no matter where they may be hiding.

This sucks if you dont use kinoma to play mp3 files, but do use it to play pod cast. now you have to scroll through all your audio files to pay the pod cast.
