The update is installed on your desktop computer and apparently covers all Palm OS devices, including the original Pilot. The Windows Mobile Treo 750 and Treo 700wx/w do not need the update.
Palm has also recently updated their Windows Vista support page. It now includes some additional details regarding compatibility of certain devices, software and functions on Vista systems. Thanks to WyreNut for the tip.

Works great. Finished installing shortly after I responded here, and have synced my TX a number of times today. The only problem is the version of Documents to Go that came with my TX doesn't work. Their website states an update is coming in 2007. I disabled it in hotsync manager for now. I only use the viewer in my TX to read documents once in a blue moon. Palm TX & Moto Razr
