SlingPlayer Mobile is available now for $29.99 and $34.99 CAD respectively and includes a free 30-day trial.
Sling says in addition to eliminating bugs during beta testing, they've added a few new features based on customer feedback:
The Slingbox redirects, or "placeshifts," a single live TV stream from a cable box, satellite receiver or DVR to the viewer's PC or smartphone via the Internet. Unlike other services currently available for other mobile devices, SlingPlayer Mobile gives users their entire home TV experience. Anything you can watch on your setup back home, can be sent to your device. In addition, SlingPlayer Mobile customers can control a home digital video recorder (DVR), such as a TiVo, to record shows, watch shows that have been previously recorded, and even pause and rewind live TV.

As of today, $29.99 in US dollars = $31.70 Canadian. RE: At current exchange rates, Canucks should be paying less.VampireLestat @ 7/3/2007 12:35:49 AM #
yeah, the CAD and USD are almost on par but get this....
ripoff anyways, I am happy with the device, but they could give Canadians a break. As for this article, how the h**l am I supposed to benefit from slingplayer when data plans are 5cents per KB? Watching a movie would cost me like 50 000$. RE: At current exchange rates, Canucks should be paying less.
Hmm that's a bit much really! gotta blame Palm for not building in wifi...speaking of which slingplayer works on the Tungsten E2 through wifi... unfortunately it won't run on older devices. speaking of which slingplayer works on the Tungsten E2 through wifi. The forums on slingcommunity.com have people running it on a 680, a TX and a LifeDrive (LifelessDrive?)... I have the beta2 running on my TX, but it is evident that it was written for the 700/750... it uses the small screen size of the Smartphones (the poor PDA market is being made to die a slow and painful death so why support it? ) RE: At current exchange rates, Canucks should be paying less.
I saw your post - I have a Tungsten E2 and installed the mobile slingbox application but I can only get audio - the video is totally black - any thoughts? RE: At current exchange rates, Canucks should be paying less.BaalthazaaR @ 11/14/2007 3:27:10 PM #
I saw your post - I have a Tungsten E2 and installed the mobile slingbox application but I can only get audio - the video is totally black - any thoughts? That is not a lot of information to go on. What is your setup slingbox-wise? Can you get a picture from a desktop/laptop? Are you on your home network or are you doing this remote? What are your data transfer rates? Have you upgraded your firmware on the slingbox or your router after setting everything up? Have you checked the slingplayer mobile settings? There is a setting for audio only. Have you tried reinstalling the application (It has helped a couple of people)? Checked that your cables are properly connected? Keep in mind, I'm no expert and I don't work for them. I'm just a relatively happy customer... It was pretty straight forward for me on my TX, but mine is a fairly simple setup. You could also look for help at the sling community forums(www.slingcommunity.com). They've helped out a few people figure out problems that they were encountering.
Again, I'm not affiliated with them either.
