Welcome to PalmInfocenter v6.0

PalmInfocenter MobileWelcome to the latest version of PalmInfocenter! Todays refresh marks our 6th major design overhaul over the course of our 10 years online. The new site features a streamlined new look, improved loading times, larger fonts for easier reading, optimized navigation and various commenting enhancements, while still retaining the classic PIC look and feel.

In addition I've also overhauled the mobile version of PalmInfocenter (m.palminfocenter.com) as well. It now offers registered users the ability to login in and comment right from your device while browsing the lightweight, mobile optimized site.

Please let us know if you have any trouble or spot any bugs. The PalmInfocenter store will be updated with the new design in the near future.

Thanks for reading and we hope you enjoy the new PalmInfocenter!

You can also checkout previous versions of PIC over at the Internet Archive.

Great Job.

BTW... that would be "easier" reading... (oh, the irony... :)

this is great! I have been visiting this site for years (since I owned a Kyocera 6035!) I've wanted to leave my comments on several stories, but I rarely visit this site from my desktop. I have to admit the soap opera type bickering between Mike & Gekko are amusing.
This is a great improvement! Thanks Ryan.

Thanks for the redesign. I'm sure with the Pre coming this site will be growing a lot.

Kid just got over flu; spousie currently has it. About 4-5 days, then recovery. Recovery consists of no fever but cough. Kid is on about 5th day of recovery now.

This flu does its best to kill its host. Ungrateful bastard.

EVERYTHING seems like an hallucination!

Hey Mike, your critics might say you spend your life in one great hallucination!

As a fellow (flu) sufferer here's to wish you a speedy recovery.

SeldomVisitor @ 2/27/2009 4:21:31 AM # Q
Relatively speaking, the flu The Kidlet and The Spousie got was way mild - fever up to103-ish, slightly runny nose. lots of coughing, tired, that's about it - and, as noted, about 4-5 days of that, then cough for another week after the fever went away. I wouldn't even classify it as a "bad cold"...

WAITAMINUTE!

That should be - when I hit reply and/or make new comment, I'm having serious problems with the font. I just read the comments without replying etc and the font is fine.

The font of the button images or the comments themselves?

Font of the comments - reply to THIS message and look at what you type (no need to post!).

Ryan @ 2/26/2009 1:29:14 PM # Q
I'm not following you, the comment form is set to default to a largish-font.

I've tested on all major browsers and have not seen any small font issues. What exactly are you using? If you can email me a screenshot that would be helpful.

Also you can change the font levels within your browser, maybe that setting is interfering or could fix your issue...

This is a test, nothing but a test - note the Subject font.

I'm using Firefox, screen resolution is 1600x1200 (32 bits).

I'll email you two Bitmaps (thus no information loss); one will be of this area, the other of the comments below this in-progress reply. Two different fonts being used. THIS area has squished characters.

I have sent the two sample screenshots to webmaster@palminfocenter.com

ok, thanks for the screens. I've made some adjustments to the comment box, let me know if its better/worse/same for you now.

This is a test...yes THIS is much better, however, during the reply the Subject text just above is still the squished font.

Yeah nice job on the upgrade, Ryan. Works well and easy to read.

Hoping for a bit more colour though. It's just a tad too high key I think.

Great overhaul, Ryan. Mobile edition looks good on my iPhone. I like it better than the iPhone edition.

Thank you!

1. Try to comment, redirected to logon page. logon. back to front page and try again. Redirected to the logon page. login again. "you are alreadey logged in". repeat until I find that on the redirect to logon page if I refresh the screen now it knows i'm logged.

2. while doing the above I wnt to see if I could comment in the forums.

Re: "Error in my_thread_global_end(): 1 threads didn't exit", I get the same error message when trying to get into the discussion forums. However, I ended up where I wanted to by just ignoring the message. I was redirected as usual.

And I just got this error trying to post a lengthy reply in the discussion forums (and there is no way I'm going to go back and retype all of that):

And then after restarting Firefox, it appears that the reply got posted five times instead of not at all! So I just deleted four of them.

Sorry for the errors, thanks for posting them. I will look into it. The my_thread_global_end() can be ignored.

Posting on Tx

philpalm @ 2/28/2009 6:00:16 PM # M Q
I am internet spoiled and posting using Tx is a drudge. No spell check and scrolling down the comments is a pain using the five way button.

I bet you using a Pre will still be a pain compared to using a regular computer (except one with a virus).
