Here's a good article from
Fortune. Of course they talk about the IPO and HandSpring, but it also gives good insight on the transition of the Palm Economy, as it is now called. Palm VP states that more licensing deals are imminent. Looks as if Palm is changing from being a hardware company to a software-and-services one. A move that will help proliferate the PalmOS.

I just noticed this
Gameboy EMU on
PalmGear today. This is
not the one Maven is working on. It appears to be a very early and crude test. Proceed with caution, the version number listed is 0.001. There's more info on the developers
homepage.
Looks like it will only run on
POSE.

Maven is leaning towards releasing the emulator as it stands - ready to run Tetris. He will also release a DOS utility (which he is currently writing - the main reason why it's not quite ready for release) which will convert a Tetris ROM to a PDB file for the Palm. The emulator will NOT run on any Palm before OS 3.0, due to the fact that the earlier versions had less than
the 46kb of Dynamic Memory available to an application which Gambit requires. The Gambit.prc is actually pretty small - currently under 20kb! A release date hasn't been set, but we will have it here as soon as it is announced. See this
article for more on Gambit, as always leave any comments below.

Visor Central has a good, in-depth
review
of the Visor Deluxe. I'm told by various sources that all orders placed early should be shipping on or before October 15th. I've also heard that one of the reasons the Visor is faster than standard Palms is because they
disabled the Wait states. If you have a IIIx or V you can get
an app that that will disable the wait states.
This will produce much faster speeds and better preformance, but use at your own risk.
