Kingston 128 MB SD Card Available Soon (Updated)
Kingston has announced a 128 MB SD card. Toshiba and SanDisk also sell cards of this size, but the largest SD card available from Panasonic is 64 MB. Kingston's 128 MB card will cost $200 when available. The company will also make SD cards with capacities of 32 MB and 64 MB.
These flash memory cards will be available both online and through regular retailers.
Recently, Panasonic and Sony have been locked in a price war over expansion memory. Panasonic has dropped prices on its SD cards and Sony has done the same with its Memory Sticks. A few months ago, Sony cut the price of a 128 MB Memory Stick to just $150.
The suggested retail price of the Toshiba 128 MB SD card is $300 but all these memory cards can be found on the Web for below their suggested prices, some much lower.
Jason Jacobi, Director of Marketing for Kingston, said, "The Secure Digital Card's small postage stamp size and enhanced security features is the ideal way to add storage to the latest SD compatible digital devices."

RE: 128MB Memory Sticks
i can understand one wanting to post the price difference. but the point still remains that SD cards are a better value if u are wanting to have copy-protected materials on the go.
just 2 cents. there aint enough mosny in what i said to start any type of flame war ;)
RE: 128MB Memory Sticks
I also understand where you are coming from. But from the view of an ordinary consumer, MS/MMC is usually enough with regards to everyday PDA use compared to MG/SD. Copy-protected materials are not really that important nor being used by most. I think the total space becomes the selling point, as well as it's reusability (speed is not even an issue).
With regards to MG and MS (if you have a Clie 7xx), with the MS, you can't store ATRAC3 music format unlike the MG. Some say ATRAC3's compression is better than MP3, but then some just prefer MP3 since it's the more common format.

RE: Toshiba already ships one too
I still think it is newsworthy because the more companies that make them, the lower prices will be.
By the way, as the comment before this one said, Meritline is selling the Toshiba card for $180.

That's the price for the SanDisk one as well:

RE: Toshiba already ships one too
One thing that will be more and more important when you're gonna announce new SD cards is the speed at wich they can transfer data.
Because Panasonic said their next generation will be faster, we will also need the speed that we can reach with those cards. So maybe it won't be only an equation of price vs storage capacity when choosing a card, but also one implying speed.
Thanks
