Rumor: More on the Sony SJ30
The German website xonio.com has more information on the not-yet-announced Sony PEG-SJ30. The site was able to learn that this model will have 16 MB of RAM and its hi-res screen will have 16-bit color. This comes at the tradeoff of being heavier than the SL10, weighing in at almost 5 ounces. It is expected to be available in Europe in September. Models are usually available in the U.S. before they are in Europe.
xonio.com was also able to come up with a picture, which shows that the SJ30's casing is much less dark than the SL10, its sister model, and has chrome buttons.
The SL10 and SJ30 are apparently the same size, which means they should be able to use the same cases. It was already known that the SL10, another model named the SJ20, and the SJ30 will all have T-series HotSync ports, so they can use many of the same peripherals, like keyboards.
The SJ30 will use a 33 MHz Dragonball processor and have an internal rechargeable battery. It has a Memory Stick slot and Jog Dial with a Back button. However, it lacks the USB port on the side that the SL10 has. It comes with a cradle and will cost about $300.
Thanks to Eric for the tip. BTW, before any of you point out that xonio.com has some info on the T675C, I want to point out that this is just the European version of the T665C, not a whole new model. -Ed
