palmOne Brings the Treo 600 to T-Mobile
palmOne today announced that the award-winning Treo 600 smartphone is now available to T-Mobile USA customers. The phone can now be ordered online and at retail, with a limited time upgrade discount available to previous Treo owners.
The Treo 600 can now be ordered immediately online from palmOne.com, and through direct T-Mobile business sales channels and select value-added resellers. The Treo 600 smartphone will be available to new T-Mobile customers at an estimated U.S. street price of $499 when purchased with a service contract.
Through March 2, 2004, palmOne is offering all Treo 180, 270 and 300 owners the ability to upgrade to a Treo 600 smartphone for only $399, exclusively at palmOne.com.
"Now, a whole new range of customers can experience the simplicity, performance and design that Treo 600 customers have come to love," said Ed Colligan, palmOne senior vice president and general manager of the Wireless Business Unit. "Now customers can enjoy this award-winning smartphone using T-Mobile's national all-digital, high-speed GSM/GPRS voice and data network, the largest of its kind. In addition, T-Mobile offers extensive International roaming, enabling customers to make and receive phone calls in more than 120 countries worldwide, with email and web roaming already supported in many European countries."
"The Treo 600 raises the standard in smartphone design by combining robust voice and data capabilities in a remarkably compact form factor," said Scott Ballantyne, vice president, business services marketing for T-Mobile USA, Inc. "The Treo 600 smartphone is a great do-it-all device for mobile professionals that can be easily customized for business using the plethora of applications developed specifically for the Palm OS, making it a simple yet powerful wireless communications device."

Roaming in 120 Countries
What about unlimited data plans here in the U.S.? If some one could just offer a plan that competes with Sprints package that would be the ultimate solution.

1) $30 for standalone unlimited data, w/ $0.20 per minute voice
2) Standard voice plan + $20 per month for unlimited data
Choose one or the other. The former is mostly for people who want one of those cellular PC Cards for their laptop, but no cell phone.
Is that just wasting old "trash"?
