Roaming in 120 Countries

razorpit @ 2/10/2004 11:14:44 AM #
It's good to be able to roam in 120 countries, that would be great the next time I plan to travel around the world.

What about unlimited data plans here in the U.S.? If some one could just offer a plan that competes with Sprints package that would be the ultimate solution.

T-Mobile does have unlimited data @ $19.99/mo. in the US.

You have to be kidding me about the $20 per month for unlimited data! If I got unlimited data from Cingular, they'd charge me $80. What gives?

Jeff Kirvin over at WOYP has noted that over this Presidents Day weekend, CompUSA is running a special sale, whereby with discounts and rebates you can get a Sprint Treo600 for $299!!! That's certainly cheaper than the price noted here. Philippe Radley

I just took a look at T-Mobile's site and the unlimited data plan is $30 per month. They dont charge for data, but there was this line: "20¢ per minute calling". So, does that mean that even if the data rate is free, they charge you for the time used? That doesn't sound very "unlimited". It just depresses me even further to think the equipment wise, I've been ready, but the wirless access in the US is sorely deficient.

That's a seperate package. T-Mobile has two offerings for data:

1) $30 for standalone unlimited data, w/ $0.20 per minute voice

2) Standard voice plan + $20 per month for unlimited data

Choose one or the other. The former is mostly for people who want one of those cellular PC Cards for their laptop, but no cell phone.

What about Verizon?

cbomberg @ 2/10/2004 2:35:12 PM #
Does anyone know if or when Verizon will offer the Treo 600?

Is that just wasting old "trash"?

All rumors are saying that the Treo 620 satys in front of the door! the 620 will be one of the phonehighlights at Cebit show in Hannover Germany end in just 5 weeks. So is it worth to buy an "old" unit now for that big price?
