Verizon Unlimited Wireless Access for $25

allNetDevices is reporting that Verizon Wireless has launched $24.95 per month unlimited wireless access for users of Palm III and Palm V handhelds through wireless modems. They don't, however, report what modems will be used or the cost for them.

Verizon is the collaboration between Bell Atlantic and Vodafone AirTouch.

... you need to be in Bell Atlantic's service area -
basically the northeast down to virginia or so. You
will pay around .05$ roaming charge where other CDPD
services are available.

Sorry Dave, I don't think you are correct. Here's a quote from the press release:

Verizon Wireless' packet data network is one of the largest in the nation, covering most of the major markets in the U.S., and will expand by almost double at the close of the Bell Atlantic - GTE merger at the end of the month.

The month they are referring to is June and the deal has closed.

If anyone is interested in this, I'd suggest you visit the Verizon site and check to see if it is available in your area.

Here's the test from their page:

If you're a typical Palm™ user, you don't go anywhere without your organizer. Now, you can add a Novatel Wireless Minstrel™ modem and get unlimited web browsing and real-time POP3 e-mail for just $24.95/month anywhere in the Verizon Wireless (formerly Bell Atlantic Mobile) CDPD footprint. That means you can travel from Boston to DC, and in Pittsburgh and the Carolinas, and have all the Internet-based information you rely on, right in the Palm in your hand.

Unless there's a newer site I'm not finding...

Ok, never mind - I found it - bell atlantic didn't update their coverage info or rates on their site yet (but they did change the name).

My bad...

Thanks!!!
