iambic has released TinySheet 4.1, a new version of its spreadsheet application that supports the 480 by 320 color screens on Sony's just announced NR series. The company has also added VFS memory card support. Workbooks can be saved to removable memory cards in the TinySheet Manager. TinySheet already has support for Sony's 320 by 320 screen. Its spreadsheets can synchronize with Microsoft Excel on a Windows PC. iambic appears to have a great deal of confidence in the NR series. At the PalmSource Forum Japan 2002 last weekend, Sony showed off a beta version of Action Names Datebook with support for the larger screen.
SilverScreen is a replacement for the built-in application launcher. It offers support for the removable memory cards on both Palm and Sony models. Thanks to Eugene and montyburns for the tips. -Ed Related Information:

That is not a true hi-res support. It only support hi-res fonts which I can enable through Sony's hack. What I want is hi-res icons like in Megalauncher. RE: Hi-res supportI.M. Anonymous @ 4/3/2002 8:16:45 AM #
> It only support hi-res fonts Are you sure about that? True, the graphics aren't smaller but they look smoother. I don't think that the only purpose of a hi-res launcher is to crowd in more icons. RE: Hi-res support
Looks cleaner than Megalauncher. I agree that you don't need 4 or 5 coluns of small icons to qualify as "hi-res".

"I agree that you don't need 4 or 5 coluns of small icons to qualify as "hi-res"" True, but having the option of 4 or 5 columns would be nice for those of us who still have good eyesight. RE: HE 330 support
I think the problem with HandEra Support is simply that HandEra hasn't sold enough units to make it compelling for developers. HE330 and TinySheet -
I don't think TinySheet's going to get rewritten for the HE330 when HandEra already ships QuickSheet with the 330 for free - There just isen't much of a market in it. The QuickOffice suite, with full HE330 support. As far as support in other areas, it seems to be doing fair enough, except maybe for games. Any HE330 owners want to comment? I think I saw HE330 support on the Launcher III support page, but I don't know what that entails. RE: Hi-res support
If you were using default color theme (Chromacast) prior to upgrading to 2.6, the new theme is not "read" properly until you go to Option and select "chromacast" as your theme again. You will find the lower icon deck portion and battery indicator being in hi-res graphic. RE: Hi-res supportI.M. Anonymous @ 4/4/2002 3:23:14 AM #
yes...but does it warrant another 200+Kb just to have 'hi-res' support? I don't think so. I like silverscreen, but still uses Megalauncher. I think I will move to Launcher X when it's ready. PocketSensei should move to full native support for hi-res and not just a patch.

wow, that screenshot at www.iambic.com/english/palmos/tinysheet/features.html looks quite sweet. however, how about landscape mode? that would be quite handy on a spreadsheet... RE: landscape mode?I.M. Anonymous @ 4/3/2002 4:32:39 PM #
No, he's talking about TinySheet, not QuickSheet.
Does TinySheet support landscape mode?

There are color icons to download but it seems as if they have nothing to do with the applications that I would want to add them to...is there a way to make these icons yourself?

All the color fonts available for SS have nothing to do with Palm applications. Why can't they just colorize some of the existing icons?
