palmOne has released a new security patch that addresses an issue with the Tungsten T2 and Zire 71 handhelds. The update fixes a potential exploit with the password protection and auto lock features. The issue relates to a condition that may compromise the password lock out of the device. If you use the password protection or the Auto Lock Handheld security feature, you must download and install this patch. The patch is 6k and resides in main memory. It is only for the Zire 71 and Tungsten T2. The installation instruction and patch are available here.

I assume that this is an issue with the newer OS on the TT2 and 71, and not relevant to older palms like the TT1.
What does the patch actually fix? With autolock & the other lock options enabled, it slows down the shortcut (br, me,ts) feature as these do not complete as fast as before. It also slows down Text Plus & Word complete. I did a hard reset on my T2 & tested again. With auto lock & the others Disabled, everything is normal. Having one of the two or both enabled, it slows down the system. Does the patch fix these?
I went to about box of Security in TT2. Before and after apply this patch still show as TealLock V.5.11.
You can see it screenshot from here http://www.tpug.org/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=733&mode=&order=0&thold=0 Is this Palm (or pa1mOne) for got to remove, or want to its to be like this. Just wondering.
