TealPoint Software Releases TealWheel for Palm OS

TealWheelShortly after the early retirement of their TealOS product, TealPoint are back again with another new launcher application for Palm OS devices. TealWheel is currently being billed as an experimental popup launcher. It seems to be a combination of some aspects of TealOS functionality (cards, screenshots) and the old TapWave Zodiac launcher. It basically allows you to bring up the specialized app launcher and switch programs with the 5-way or touch controls. TamsPalm has posted a overview with some additional screenshots.

TealWheel v0.16 is available now in "Alpha" form, meaning that Teal is still working out functionality and its feature-set. The app is currently a free download and Teal have been releasing daily refinements while it is in the experimental stage.

Thanks to PalmAddicts for the heads up.

Giggle.

I think it just shows the applications that currently work in the background and not all of applications on the device. If that is correct then 12 apps are more than enough!

How many apps can you productively use at one time? One, two. I am guessing you are one of those folks who actually believe they can 'multitask'.

Actually, I find it's not about multitasking, but more of accessing the right "page".

So, let's say this particular app called CJKOS, whenever the phone restarts, I have to go through the menu, launch the app, then click "enable". It'd be nice if the page that has the "enable" part appears whenever I launch CJKOS.

The only way we can truly multi task is when we use the different receptive sensors, that is, eyes & ears, simultaneously. We can see 2 different things at once, but our brain can only process it singularly. We can't write 2 different stories at once, can we?

So, it's not about multi tasking, but more of opening the right "page" of a software at a single tap/touch/launch.

Better than the Pre dock

It shows 12 apps (13 if the one in the center is unique) instead if 4. Maybe they'll add gestures to get the next/prev 12 apps. Also controlling what order they are listed would be useful, i.e. alphabetical vs. most used vs. last used vs. user specified order, etc. Maybe the could have categories.
