Brando Workshop Tungsten E Gear Review

Mike Rohde has published a review of three unique Tungsten E products from Brando Workshop. Mike Takes a look at the Pivot Silicone Case, 3-in-1 Metal Stylus, and Brando Ultra-Clear Protector Plus.

Mike Rhode writes, Every now and again, I get curious about new gear for my Tungsten E. I'm fortunate enough to know Brando over at Brando Workshop since my Palm Tipsheet days. Brando is always happy to send over review items to play with, so I requested three items for review: a Pivot Silicone Case, 3-in-1 Metal Stylus, and Brando Ultra-Clear Protector Plus.

I've always used matt screen protectors (Brando ones), but the last time I renewed I decided to try the Brando Ultra Clear PP. As the review says, it is invisible, just like the protector is not there.

The reflections and glare are hard to live with after being used to the easy-on-the-eye softness of a matt protector. I find myself constantly angling my T|T around so I can read the screen without annoying highlights.

And the dust it shows settling on the screen! I seldom used to wipe my Palm's screen from month to month. Now it's a daily affair.

I'll be going back to matt. Some say these reduce screen resolution; this has not been my experience.

The matt ones are just the standard Workshop protectors Brando has always sold. There's a reasonable photo (Pic 6) on this page:

Yep, sorry. I work in the printing industry in Australia -- over here we call it matt.

Matte is the lack of gloss or luster.

Matt is the guy with no arms and no legs, laying at the doorstep. ;-)

Matte/Matt... both are acceptable... when you buy non-shiny paint at the DIY shop, it's usually Matt... when you use a blue screen to superimpose live action over an image it's travelling Matte... same difference.

I'm English and I talk dead proper, I do, so I should know, me... oh an Matte is a French word. Oops.
