PalmSource Sets Date for Next US DevCon

At that point, what reason would anyone have to buy a P1 device? For the excellent build quality, customer support and the great Bluetooth (you don't need Wi-Fi) capability?

My attitude is that who goes to this is a good filter of those who matter in the business. Those who don't make it in some form usually don't matter.

Oddly, Samsung is set to be the 1st manufacturer to use Cobolt. with Sony gone - maybe Samsung will step things up and take Sonys place as the 'big innovator' for the platform - but on the phone side (which is where things are *mostly* going anyways). They can be to Palm OS phones what sony was to PDAs and give palmOne the kick-in-the ass is clearly has needed ever since Sony exited the market and p1 starting thinking that it could reap huge margins on over priced drek like the T5 (where they not only did not innovate - they 'counter-innovated' and rolled back half of the features they had previously added to the Tungsten line. Anyway - with the treo being such a carrier darling - perhaps Samsung will now get more interest for its phones. Previously they had been pumping out a few models each year for the last few years - but only 1/3 of these ever saw market because if the carriers don't want it, then Samsung doesn't manufacture it - thus all of those models that just seemed to die at the prototype phase. I really wish they'd amp up their Palm OS 5 device development. If nothing else p1 has shown that there is a big market for Palm OS phones. I am very curious to see their Cobolt model.
