Numerous rumor reports have pinned down a early November release date for the Verizon 755p.
The Verizon press release states: Charismatic as it is functional, aficionados will welcome the Palm Treo 755p. Its slim form factor is packed with tools such as a large color touch-screen and a full QWERTY keyboard for easy messaging, a 1.3 megapixel camera and support for Bluetooth stereo headsets. The built-in 60 MB of dedicated memory allows the use of a robust set of applications, while storage can be enhanced by using the miniSD slot to add up to 8 GB of additional memory. It goes on to state that more information including pricing, will be available as the devices become available.

Releasing devices that other carriers had six months ago. RE: Good to see Verizon is back to their old formDoctor_Roe @ 10/18/2007 3:51:04 PM #
I think that (Or I'd like to think that) Verizon has a higher QA policy on new offerings than other folks.. :-) That's why time-to-market is a bit longer.
RE: Good to see Verizon is back to their old form
Does anyone know the cause of the delay? Several possible reasons: 1. Verizon is simply up to their old tricks (remember how long it took them to offer the 600 & 650?) 2. Sprint had an actual exclusive on the 755p for 6 months. 3. Was Verizon TERRIFIED of another 700p-style debacle and just wanted to wait? 4." " And a 755p ROM update is imminent (maybe with some of the Centro's fixes) and Verizon's units will all be sold pre-patched? 5. Sprint didn't order enough 755p's (due to the Centro) so Verizon got the remaining stock for a pittance, deciding to offer the 755p after deciding to pass on the Centro. 6. Verizon has spec'd some unspecified hardware change or OS tweak that has taken ~6 months to implement.

2) likely
4) Hope so. At least update the out-of-date stuff they put in the original ROM.
The 755p is the closest thing to a perfect smartphone out there, and I prefer the Verizon network, having already endured whatever Cingular/AT&T is called this week for years. Once it comes out, I will probably finally take the plunge and abandon my T|X and cell phone for a single unit at last. Unfortunately, in this country we're still married to our networks. Until everyone is using the same standards (CDMA, GPRS, GPM, etc. etc.) we're stuck with this kind of marketplace. Thanks, Congress. Of course, *your* cell phones are paid for. Finally...a worthy upgrade to my Treo 650 after two years of waiting. Can't wait to get my new every two years upgrade. Already have Sandisk 4gb minisd that I can use in the 755p. RE: On the other hand
I suspect the 755P will be announced available any day now. I seem to recall Nov 9 was the date we saw on the photo on the Verizon screen. I'm ready !!! RE: On the other hand

The local Verizon store is now saying that the 755p is definitely coming but "winter" is the date they are giving. When pressed, they offered "late November possibly".
I'll believe it when I see it. If I had to guess, I'd still say that the 755p is never coming to Verizon and/or if it ever does, it won't be until after the first of the year. According to a TreoCentral rumor, the 755p recently failed testing with Verizon for unspecified OS issues and was sent back to Palm...
