Posted By: Ryan Kairer on Friday, July 06, 2007 11:27:27 AM

Krome Treo EmailKrome is a new email application for Palm OS Treo's from Wolflane Software. Krome features a clean and streamlined, easy to use interface. It has custom small font support which allows you to view much more text on the screen at one time. It supports the usual POP3 and IMAP email accounts, has a guided setup process and can store messages on external memory cards. It also has advanced network support, which allows you to read and create email while new emails are being downloaded in the background.

Krome v1.0 is available now for $16.95 USD. It includes a 30-day free trial period.

 Exchange email

I'd be highly interested in this if it supported Exchange functions. (Push email, Calendar, Contacts, Tasks and Notes.) Unfortunately, that would probably destroy its small size and simplicity.

Maybe the developer would investigate a "Pro" version that has Exchange support. The built-in app is OK, but I can't sync tasks, which really hurts.

Chattermail supports Exchange ActiveSync, but it's kind of buggy. If you're on a Exchange system, Chattermail is a good alternative to Versamail from what I've seen.

Tungsten T --> Palm TX --> Foleo-mini??(like an LD-II with a small attached keyboard??)

Anyone know if this supports 320X480? Guess I could just try out the demo, but if anyone has tried it on a TX please let us know.

PDA's Past and Present:
Palm - IIIxe, Vx, M500, M505, Tungsten T, TX
Handspring - Edge, Platinum, Deluxe
Sony - SJ22
Apple - MP110, MP2000, MP2100

Does not support 320x480. Works and looks nice, but hamstrings one of the reasons I bought a TX and not a Treo.

 Yahoo imap - true push
drw @ 7/6/2007 10:17:02 PM #

The iphone is supposed to support true push imap yahoo mail. People are having mixed results. Doing a search for yahoo push mail I'm led to 2005 articles how yahoo is partnering with someone and it would cost $2.99 on Sprintpcs.

Does someone know the up to date status on whether yahoo can push mail to a sprintpcs palmos treo? Is it still by subscription or can some program do it for free? (btw: polling every xx minutes does not equal "push")

 Background operation?
pascanu @ 7/7/2007 10:49:25 AM #

Does it support background operation like Chatteremail? There's no mention about this, so I suppose it does not...

Handspring Visor -> m505 -> Zire71 -> Zire72 -> Treo650

It has custom small font support which allows you to view much more text
Oh boy, now all I need is the built in magnifing glass and I can then actually see the mini-micro print.

nybble @ 7/8/2007 12:15:21 PM #

I emailed their support but haven't heard back. Does anyone know if they support IMAP idle and IMAP over ssl?
