Also newly added is MTP communication capabilities with Windows Media Player 11. MTP is a proprietary Microsoft protocol, commonly found on products like the Creative Zen line. MTP is akin to UMS for portable media devices but somewhat more restrictive and limited only to Windows XP and Vista-based machines, so users of WMP 11 under XP and all Vista users may appreciate this addition. Version 4.02 can be downloaded here or from within the app using its integrated auto-update feature.
The final change in this new version is a bug fix that some users have encountered when launching PTunes to play internet radio stations from within Blazer 4.5 on the Treo 700p and 680. Pocket Tunes Deluxe 4.0 sells for $37.95 and a free trial is available. A basic version is also available for $19.95, which omits the support for online music stores.
