PalmSource today announced entry into an agreement for the acquisition of China MobileSoft Limited (CMS), a leading Chinese mobile phone software company with business operations headquartered with its wholly-owned subsidiary, MobileSoft Technology (Nanjing), in China. PalmSource has also announced plans to work closely with the Linux Community to develop a version of the Palm OS that will run on top of Linux.

palmOne and PalmSource have settled a joint suit against Acer. In September 2003, PalmSource filed a complaint against Acer in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, asserting claims arising out of a breach of contract regarding Acer's Palm OS License Agreement.

Bejeweled 2, the sequel to the best selling PDA game, Bejeweled, has made its handheld debut on the Palm OS less than a month after PopCap's PC version and retains all the features of its bigger brother, including four standard play modes, classic, action, endless and the all-new puzzle mode.

PalmSource has announced that Al Wood, chief financial officer and treasurer, has left the Company to pursue other interests. Wood joined PalmSource as its chief financial officer in October 2002.

Tapwave has announced a Wi-Fi SD card solution for the Zodiac Palm Powered multimedia handheld. In addition to the Zodiac's built-in Bluetooth, users can now use a SanDisk Wi-Fi SD card or the palmOne Wi-Fi SD card. Tapwave is offering a solution that includes a Wi-Fi SD card, drivers and Zodiac enhanced Web Browser and email client.

palmOne today announced palmOne's VersaMail 2.7 wireless email software is now available for Treo 600 smartphones. UPDATED Chapura has announced that PocketMirror Standard XT 3.1.8 is available to synchronize data in Microsoft Outlook with the palmOne PIM applications on Treo 650, Zire 72, Zire 31, Tungsten T5, Tungsten T3 and Tungsten E devices. PocketMirror is the first third party software product line to synchronize the additional fields with Outlook Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, and Notes.
