Palm IIIc to appear at CeBit

PCWeek has an article detailing that Palm plans to unveil its long-awaited color device at the CeBit trade show in Germany next week. It also mentions that a color version of AvantGo will be released as well. (If anyone plans on attending the show, please drop me a line. -@)

I have minimum wallet requirements. My basic contents, not counting what little cash I have, is a stack a half inch in height . My Palm III comes in at 0.6 inches high, so I like a case that handles at least 1.1 inches of stuff.

Palm IIIc pictures surfacing

With an official release expected sometime next week, Palm IIIc pictures are starting to show up around the net and also in a few store inventories (but not shelves). PalmStation has a picture of the unit itself but is too blurry to make out the screen and a pic of the IIIc box. Smartmedia module for IIIx

AMS has announced a Smartmedia module for the IIIx at a price of $79. The device appears to be some sort of board replacement that gives you acces to Smartmedia memory cards ranging from 4 - 32MB's. Shipment is expected sometime in March. Check out at ams-fl.com/axxpac/e_index.html

Palm IPO March 2nd

Bloomberg.com has an piece on 3Com Shares Rising on Investor Optimism for the Palm Initial Public Offering. 3Com (NASDAQ: COMS) was up 7.5% today, to 67. (Wow, I bought it at 25, why didn't I buy more!) The most significant part of the article mentions Palm (NASDAQ: PALM) shares will be priced on March 1st and begin trading on March 2nd. "There has been a groundswell of optimism about this," said Sally Anderson, a money manager for Kopp Investment Advisers. "Palm is going to be one hot cookie."
