This story describes the new Iron Ferrite battery technology in development. The story is a week old, but relevant to us heavy battery consumers. They will last more than twice as long as conventional alkalines and will be compatible with existing devices. Sorry WinCE users you will still need to use 4 D batteries to power your PDA's ;)

The
mercury center has
a letter up that was written to the CEO of 3com.
The letter details how the authors think that Palm is set to lose the next OS war and how they can be better prepared to take on the monstrosity that is Microsoft.

Another Palm V case hits the market. But this one is different: not only is the look very original, but also, it's free!
No, you won't really get one for free. But it's made from commonly available parts and you can download full instructions on how to build it.
If you still haven't found a case that you really like, or if you're a tightwad, take a peek at the "Palm V Quick Draw Holster" site:

I just traded up my used Palm III for a new Palm V at a site called
Usedpalmpilots.com. It's pretty cool since they shipped me my new Palm V and let me keep the III until I received the V. Personally, I can't be without a unit for 7 days, so they have a two-step trade-up program that allows this. You can also sell or buy a used Palmpilot at the site, but I like the tradeup concept.
This seems like a good deal. They offer some great prices if you want to trade in your old Palm. Has anyone bought one from the site? Post your thoughts on this buying and selling format, do you see any advantages to this site over ebay.com? -@tomic212

ZDnet UK takes a look at how Apples' planed new PDA, the iPocket, might look like and function.
I must say that the picture they have is pretty
eye catching. The device will be based on the Palm OS. Maybe even the new color version we've been hearing rumors about.
Here's the link.

There's an

CNN.com on a new Psion color handheld. Funny thing is that they have a Palm V
depicted in the picture.
