Motion Apps' popular mVoice app has received an update to version 5.5. mVoice is a phone call and voice memo recorder application for Palm OS and Windows Mobile Treos. The Windows Mobile version of mVoice is still at version 5.0, however, this 5.5 update features an overhauled user interface in addition to the new feature of automatic phone conversation recording. Other additions found in this update are a new noise filter while recording and a built-in phone call log. In addition, all 5.x versions of mVoice feature an update checker built into the app. This permits Treo owners to download the latest version over the air and install it to their devices without having to Hotsync with a PC.
mVoice is available for $24.95. Owners of the previous version 4.x of mVoice can upgrade to the latest version for $9.99. Owners of the previous versions 5.00 and 5.01 can download the 5.5 update for free from Motion Apps. PIC reviewed mVoice 5.0 head to head with CallRec 3.1 last year here.

Gx5 has released a new memo pad replacement program called TreoMemo. It features a "Treo optimized" interface, with a collection of different skins. TreoMemo uses your existing memo database and adds a number of additional features including "Type to Get Memo" navigation, mp3 alarms, SMS and email memo's, finger scrolling and searching capabilities.
TreoMemo v0.930 is available now with a free trial. It costs $9.95 to register (it is currently on sale for $4.95 for a limited time.)
ACCESS today debuted a new ACCESS Powered logo and announced it is renaming Palm OS to Garnet OS. The new ACCESS Powered logo replaces the Palm Powered logo and is now used with products from both ACCESS and PalmSource, Inc. (now known as ACCESS Systems Americas, Inc.).

Mobile Stream's Card Reader has just been updated. Card Reader allows you to use your Palm powered device's memory card slot as a standard USB card reader for transferring and managing files. The program features a 1200/1100KB/s read write speed, background transfers and a small file size. The new update includes support for the Treo 680 and a new experimental Bluetooth FTP transfer support, allow you to transfer files to the card wirelessly.
Card Reader v1.05 is available with a free trial and costs $11.95 to register.
Seidio has released a new extended battery for the Treo 680/750. The 1300mAh battery offers a modest 8% increase over the Treo's stock 1200mAh model. Unlike the recently released 2400mAh option, this battery does not require a new battery door as it is the same size at the stock battery and is shipping now. It sells for $34.95 USD.
The Treo 680 was released two months ago, with the biggest user complaint being the shorter battery life. Palm recently issued a patch to correct a power drain issue related to the Treo's camera, which by some PIC reader accounts has helped improve battery performance.
