GrxView, a full featured image viewer for Palm OS from
inDev Software, has been updated to version 3.0.
GrxView offers native photo and graphics viewing and file and image management. It also has support for antialiased image zooming and panning capabilities.
This new version features speed improvements, animated gif support and a new refined file manager interface including two new views with image thumbnails. The program supports all screen resolutions, memory cards and many common image formats. It sells for $14.95 and there is a free trial available.

Sixapart has released an official press release announcing the acquisition of Splashblog. They have not disclosed the amount. Read on for an official quote on the acquisition.
Splashblog has been acquired by blogging software company SixApart. Just recently, the SixApart logo was added to the mobile photoblogging website, however no official statement has been released by either company. Spalshblog started out as a new service for the Treo and other Palm devices from SplashData, it is also available for the Windows Mobile and Symbian platforms.

TamsPalm alerted me that there are some excellent Palm OS programming tutorials available from Eric Poncet. He has posted a series of
programming guides and example tutorials in Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced levels with sample apps and source code. There is also a good overview of the programming tools and utilities that are out there for Palm development.

Gx5 let me know that they have just released a new exclusive mobile wallpaper pack for Palm devices. These wallpapers have been meticulously designed for handheld and smartphone screens. The artist set out to create refreshingly vibrant backgrounds that will captivate and inspire you. I have tried a few on my treo and I have to say they are some quite attractive designs.
The WallPaper pack includes 14 different images in four main themes: Fields, Skies, Cool and Organic. Garmin has announced the Garmin Mobile 20, an automotive navigation system that delivers voice-prompted, turn-by-turn directions using Bluetooth wireless technology on Nokia, Windows Mobile and Treo 650 Smartphones. Garmin Mobile 20 provides both data connectivity as well as hands-free capability and is packaged with the GPS 20SM, a new mobile phone mount with a built-in, highly sensitive GPS receiver and Bluetooth-enabled speaker and microphone.

Panasonic today announced that it is developing a 4 GB SDHC (SD High-Capacity) Memory Card based on the new SD Specifications Version 2. The new specifications were established to meet the growing demand for High Definition video and high-resolution image recording used in many SD enabled devices. The 4 GB SDHC Memory Card is scheduled for global release in the summer of 2006.

DDH Software has just released a new version of its
HanDBase relational database application for Palm OS, Pocket PC/Windows Mobile, Windows Mobile Smartphone and Symbian S60 (formerly “Series 60”) devices. There is also a all-new Mac version of HanDBase desktop. HanDBase allows the creation of custom mobile database lists and data collection applets.

PalmRevolt has just been updated. PalmRevolt is a skinning program that can drastically change the look and feel of your Palm OS device. There are tons of skins including one's that look like various flavors of Windows, Mac OS X, BeOS and even Palm OS Cobalt. Plus there are plenty of original skins and if you're feeling creative you can even create your own.
