palmOne today reported revenue of $242.5 million for the third quarter of fiscal year 2004, ended Feb. 27, up 22.6 percent from the $197.9 million reported during the third quarter a year ago. The company sold over 900,000 handhelds in the quarter and saw increasing market share.

PalmSource today announced it has joined the Khronos Group as a contributing member to encourage the development and adoption of OpenGL ES as an important open 2D/3D graphics API standard for mobile multimedia applications. The company also announced to integrate OpenGL ES APIs into future versions of Cobalt to enable broad 3D and multimedia support.

PalmSource and Visto Corporation today announced the availability of Mobile Mail 5.0 for Palm OS Cobalt and Palm OS Garnet. The new email program will be the future standard Palm OS email application and will allow wireless email, and support POP3, IMAP and MS exchange servers.
