Sony has released three new handhelds today at the PalmSource developer conference. The new TH55 features built in wifi, camera and a 320x480 screen in a slim form factor. Sony has also cranked out two others, the TJ27 a entry level model with a built in camera and the similar TJ37 which adds integrated wifi.

updated PalmInfocenter is in San Jose for the PalmSource Developer conference. While work on more detailed reports from the event is in progress, I took some quick snaps of a few images of Palm OS 6 Cobalt being demoed at the conference keynotes.

PalmSource and NVIDIA today announced plans to enhance the graphics
acceleration in Palm Powered smart mobile devices running Palm OS Cobalt
and Palm OS Garnet. NVIDIA will bring their GoForce family of media processors to bring advanced multimedia support to the OS.

A new article has been published which confirms and earlier PalmInfocenter story about Sony planning to use Organic LED display technology in a future handheld. The report claims Sony has developed a new OLED display to be used in a yet unnamed PDA line sometime in the Spring.

After last week's early revelation that PalmSource would announce a dual strategy OS system and rename each OS, speculation has circulated over the new names. A PIC reader noticed a possible admission in the PalmSource Developer conference referring to Palm OS 6 as Cobalt...

The new Clies just announced this week in Japan have now also been announced in Hong Kong. The Sony Style HK site has full details and information about the TH55, TJ37 and TJ27 Clie handhelds in English.

As the upcoming PalmSource developer conference gets closer, more details are beginning to surface about the companies plans. Recent articles hint that PalmSource will be announcing new names for Palm OS 5 and the next generation OS 6.

Sony Japan has announced 2 new clie handhelds for Japan. The TH55 features built in Wi-Fi a larger 320x480 portrait screen and a integrated digital camera. The T37 has a square 320x320 screen and a built in digital camera. Both models will be available this month.
