Reader reports have begun to come in that early Tapwave Zodiac pre-orders have begun shipping. The Zodiac is the first Palm OS handheld designed primarily for gaming and mobile entertainment.

Two developers have released applications that address a few bugs and quirks with the palmOne Tungsten T3 handheld. The apps fix an unconfirmed processor speed bug that causes the T3 to run slightly slower than it should, beating palmOne to the punch with an unofficial fix.

Palm, Inc. and Handspring, Inc. today announced that stockholders of both companies have approved a transaction that transforms the landscape for handheld computing and communications. The transactions are expected to close later today, PalmSource and palmOne begin trading tomorrow on the Nasdaq stock market.

updated If you're having trouble hotsyncing with Panther, the newly released Apple OS, you're not alone. Palm Support has confirmed that Palm Desktop v4.1 is is currently incompatible with Mac OS X 10.3 and is working on an update.

Samsung recently showed off their two new upcoming Palm OS 5 smartphones at the past ITU World Telecom Conference in Switzerland.

Palm has posted a corporate road show presentation titled "Defining Mobile Computing" that it is taking to institutional investors in anticipation of a stockholder meeting set for Oct. 28. The presentation relates to palmOne, Inc., the company that is expected to succeed Palm, Inc., pending a successful stockholder vote.
