Sprint and Samsung have announced nationwide availability of the Samsung SPH-i330, a Palm Powered, tri-mode CDMA2000 1X phone. The i300 features Palm OS 3.5, a 256 color screen, 16MB of ram and gpsOne support.

Sybase, a enterprise infrastructure and integration company, and AvantGo, today announced that they have signed a definitive agreement for Sybase to acquire AvantGo in a cash merger valued at approximately $38 million. Sybase intends to operate AvantGo under its iAnywhere Solutions subsidiary. The acquisition is expected to be completed during the first quarter of 2003.
Also, AvantGo has made a beta version of it's Palm OS 5 software available for download.

Kyocera Wireless today announced that the
7135 smartphone will be available in the United States from AllTel Wireless beginning tomorrow, December 20. The smartphone is the follow-up to the QCP 6035 smartphone which Kyocera launched in March 2001. Consumers wanting to purchase the phone can visit any All-Tel retailer or visit the online store at
kyocera-wireless.com to purchase a 7135 and AllTel service plan. The phone will retail for $499.

Palm, Inc. which consists of two operating units – Palm Solutions Group and PalmSource -- today reported revenues of $265 million for the second quarter of fiscal year 2003, ended Nov. 29, 2002, down 9 percent from the $291 million reported during the comparable quarter a year ago, and up 54 percent from the first quarter of fiscal 2003.

Garmin International announced today that the company has received a prestigious Consumer Electronics Association Best of Innovations Award for its upcoming iQue 3600 personal digital assistant (PDA) with integrated Global Positioning System (GPS) technology. The award recognizes the best products in the Innovations 2003 Design & Engineering Showcase. It is not specifically stated in the news release; however Garmin
