CES 2003: Garmin today unveiled its iQue 3600 personal digital assistant with built-in Global Positioning System (GPS) capabilities at the 2003 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The iQue 3600 is the first product to combine the Palm OS and GPS navigation functionality in a PDA.

Palm, Inc. today announced that it received a ruling from the Internal Revenue Service that a proposed distribution of shares of PalmSource, Inc., Palm's majority-owned operating-system software business subsidiary, will be tax-free to Palm, Inc. and its United States shareholders for U.S. federal income tax purposes. This is another key step in the final separation of Palm Inc and PalmSource.

Master Thief 3D for OS 5
Master Thief, the first original 3D shooter for the Palm OS, now runs on Palm OS 5 ARM devices. The new version runs at 40fps and is is the first game use MobileWizardry's 3D Deity engine.

Apple today announced the immediate availability of iSync 1.0, Apple's multi-device synchronization software and iCal 1.0.1, an update to Apple's calendar program that lets users manage multiple calendars and share them over the Internet. The update to iSync enhances synchronization, adds scheduling and improves on the Palm OS handheld support.
