Sony Announces the Clie PEG-NZ90 with 2 MP Camera

Clie NZ90CES 2003: From the floor at CES in Las Vegas Sony has announced the new, top of the line CLIE PEG-NZ90 running Palm OS 5. Its features a two-megapixel digital camera with built-in flash and auto-focus capabilities, Bluetooth, WiFi Slot, and a removable battery. It will be available in April from SonyStyle for $800 USD. Garmin Debuts iQue 3600 GPS Handheld

CES 2003: Garmin today unveiled its iQue 3600 personal digital assistant with built-in Global Positioning System (GPS) capabilities at the 2003 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The iQue 3600 is the first product to combine the Palm OS and GPS navigation functionality in a PDA.

HuneTec will integrate the Palm OS platform with the powerful communications features of the wireless ReFLEX® network provided by WebLink Wireless to create a new class of enterprise ready 2way messaging devices.

IRS Rules Palm's Distro of PalmSource Tax-Free

Palm, Inc. today announced that it received a ruling from the Internal Revenue Service that a proposed distribution of shares of PalmSource, Inc., Palm's majority-owned operating-system software business subsidiary, will be tax-free to Palm, Inc. and its United States shareholders for U.S. federal income tax purposes. This is another key step in the final separation of Palm Inc and PalmSource.

Apple Releases iSync v1.0

Apple today announced the immediate availability of iSync 1.0, Apple's multi-device synchronization software and iCal 1.0.1, an update to Apple's calendar program that lets users manage multiple calendars and share them over the Internet. The update to iSync enhances synchronization, adds scheduling and improves on the Palm OS handheld support.
