Its maps of the entire U.S. include 4 million points of interest with phone numbers. The company is taking orders now at $40, and is supposed to begin shipping the software this week.

European Film Maker a Fan of Action Names Datebook

Austrian film director David Ruhm has won the bronze Clio award award for his latest film production "Nur Tiere Tragen Pelz" ("Only Animals Wear Fur"). He credits some of his success to iambic’s Action Names Datebook, which he has been using for years to schedule and coordinate filming and production, manage his demanding appointment schedule, and handle the multiple tasks that can plague a filmmaker so high in demand.

Review: Round Up

Those players with a knack for employing logic in their game-play might enjoy Round Up, a puzzle game from Astraware. The objective is for players to guide colored marbles back to their 'home' positions, one move at a time. Pepper brings us this review.

Rumor: Sony T650C to Include MP3 Player

According to anonymous sources, Sony will announce the PEG-T650C in Japan this weekend. The T650C will be an updated version of the T600C and will include an MP3/ATRAC3 player. It uses a slightly improved screen but does not have virtual Graffiti. It does make the jump to the 66 Mhz Dragonball SuperVZ processor.

Initially, the T650C will only be announced in Japan, not the U.S. or Europe. Other countries will, assumably, come later. This first model will run a Japanese version of the Palm OS.

OS 5 Handhelds to Need Half the Power of PPC Equivalents

Handhelds running Palm OS 5 will be available later this summer. These will run processors based on designs from ARM Holdings, rather than the familiar 68K Dragonball family. Handhelds running the Pocket PC OS will use some of the same processors.

The new Palm OS handhelds will be much faster than current ones but there has been some concern if this will come at the expense of battery life. A Motorola spokesperson told ZDnet UK that the Palm OS 5 handhelds will use roughly half the power as Pocket PC handhelds running the same hardware.

Review: Big Money

Astraware seems to have the ability to keep putting out good games at about the same rate Stephen King puts out new books. Big Money is one they introduced recently that is similar to their classic Bejeweled, but with a bit of Tetris thrown in. Pepper brings us this review.

Quickies: TreoCentral, OS 5, NR70V
