BlackJack Deluxe Updated

BlackJack DeluxeDeluxeWare has released updates to its BlackJack Deluxe game for Palm OS and Windows Mobile devices. The game offers a lifelike casino like experience with enhanced digital music and sound effects and is one of the highest rated blackjack games in the store. There are three modes of play Quick, Career and Tournament, each offering features that will help you become a more skilled Black Jack player. DeluxeWare has added support for Windows Mobile 6.1 and more screen resolutions and has fixed up a number of minor bugs.

BlackJack Deluxe v1.40 for Palm OS and v1.01 for Windows Mobile is available now with a free trial period. The game regularly costs $9.95 to register, but is on sale for $4.95 for a limited time.

Idea-Jot-It 2.0 Released

Idea-Jot-ItIdea-Jot-It is a new and reasonably priced application for Palm OS devices from ieosoft. The app is billed as a idea taking program that allows you to sketch your ideas with color pen and categorize them into separate groups. It also has a built in grading system with "Excellent, good, average and incomplete" categories.

Idea-Jot-It v2.0 is available now with a free trial period. It sells for $6.99. It is compatible with Palm OS 3.5 or above and utilizes 180KB of storage memory.

ptpChat Now Available As Freeware

ptpChat Palm OSBoraWare has updated their ptpChat application for Palm OS and has released it as freeware. ptpChat is one of the most advanced IRC clients available for Palm OS devices. It features an interface similar to desktop IRC clients and supports multi-tasking and background operation so you can work without losing your connection. It also features a tabbed interface design and works with just about any Palm OS screen resolution out there. There is also a beta version of ptpChat 2, which is also now freely available.

ptpChat v1.1 is available now for Palm OS devices running OS 3 and higher. Boraware also makes the popular PhoneSwitch Deluxe utility.

Unlocked Treo Pro Now Shipping

Treo Pro ShippingAccording to reader reports, Palm has just begun shipping its first set of Treo Pro smartphones to pre-order customers in the US. Palm's online store listing for the device now states the Pro is in stock and ships within 1 - 2 full business days. The unlocked version of the Treo Pro sells for $549.00 and free shipping is still included on all orders.

Announced in late August, the Treo Pro is Palm's first radically redesigned Treo in a number of years. The feature packed Windows Mobile powered smartphone sports a sleek and glossy design, in a much slimmer form factor. Celio Redfly On Sale for $199

The Celio Redfly is available now for $199, which is 50% off the normal $399 MSRP. It is compatible with all Palm Treo's running Windows Mobile, including the new Treo Pro and 800w.

mySchedule NHL 2008 Released

Schedule NHL 2008 Toysoft have released mySchedule NHL 2008 for Palm OS devices. mySchedule NHL is a scheduler for the National Hockey League 2008-2009 season. The application includes all 30 team's regular season schedules, rosters for all 30 teams, Stanley History stats and a Game Day feature. You can easily export games and schedules to the built in calendar and get weekly game match up summaries.

mySchedule NHL 2008 v1.1 is available now for devices running Palm OS 3.0 and higher. It sells for $6.95. A demo is included that shows limited schedules for a few teams.

VideoPoker Deluxe Updated

Video Poker DeluxeDeluxeWare has just released an update to their VideoPoker Deluxe casino game for Palm OS devices. Described as the most popular card game in the world, DeluxeWare's handheld version lets you enjoy a round wherever you are without emptying your pockets. The title simulates a real video poker machines and includes enhanced digital music and sound effects, visual effects and animations, five way navigator support and support for high-res+ displays.

Video Poker Deluxe v1.08 is available now for devices running Palm OS 5.0 and higher. It comes with a free trial period and costs $7,95 to register. It is currently on sale for $4.95 for a limited time.

SkyFire Browser Now Available

The SkyFire mobile web browser is now out of private beta and is openly available for Windows Mobile and Symbian S60 devices. SkyFire is designed to deliver a desktop-like browsing experience on the small screen. The browser supports full web browsing, and comes with the ability to handle rich media content such as Ajax functionality, Flash, Quicktime, Windows Media and others.

SkyFire version 0.8 for Windows Mobile includes marked improvements in speed and ease of use according to the company. The browser is available for free after signing up on the company's website. The software runs natively on the device and utilizes a proxy for rendering and transcoding all content.

Windows Mobile 7 Reportedly Delayed

Windows Mobile 7Cnet's Ina Fried has a new article out stating that the next major version of Windows Mobile has been delayed. The report details that device manufactures will not see a release until the second half of 2009.

Although Microsoft has not publicly said when to expect Windows Mobile 7, partners who had expected to have a final release in their hands by early next year have been told now that it won't be ready until the second half of next year, sources told CNET News.

Some preliminary information about Windows Mobile 7 was leaked earlier this year. It is said to feature a host of new input and interaction methods such as camera and motion based gestures, a new system-wide UI revamp and a new web browser and touch controls.

New Treo 800w Accessories

Treo 800w CasesA number of new Treo 800w accessories has just been added to the accessory store.

The Mobi Products Skin Case is a protective Silicone "skin-style" case around the exterior of the 800w with all of the necessary cutouts. It's made of a highly durable soft touch material that adds and additional level of anti-slip properties. In addition the case has a special anti-dust coating. It's available now for $12.95.

Treo Pro Now Available from Vodafone

Treo ProVodafone's UK Business site is now taking orders for the Palm Treo Pro smartphone. Prices currently range from free to £340.43 depending on your contract and plan.

Palm's own European web store has been taking pre-orders for the SIM-free version for the past two weeks, and the unlocked version just went on sale in the US last week as well. There have yet to be any reports of order fulfillment, though comments made last week by Palm's CEO indicated they were just getting underway.

Resco Explorer 2008 Updated

Resco ExplorerResco have released a new version of their most excellent Resco Explorer 2008 file manager for Palm OS devices. Explorer is a powerful and feature rich file system browser, image viewer, launcher, zipper, backup utility and FTP/LAN browser with an impressive range of features and customizable options. Resco Explorer 2008 v4.10.3 is available now for $29.95. It includes a free trial version and supports most Palm OS 5 and above devices. It is currently on sale for $24.95 for a limited time.
